Yes? No? Kinda?? It's a big taboo time travelling not time rewinding or time skipping pretty much in dragon ball time travelling sends U to a different dimension that's why it's such a big taboo but time rewinding or skipping doesn't from what I can guess

Maybe I'm just not into Dragon Ball as much as I used to, but I feel like the Beast form just came out of left field for no reason. Like, what did Gohan even do to gain that form? Almost lose his father figure? Is that the only way Sayans can change forms (besides merging powers together)? It just sounds like lousy writing to me. I was hoping for some special bloodline or something, not "my feelings became too strong for me so I made my body even stronger." That's LITERALLY all it is!

To put it simply half way through the production of super super hero it went from a picoolo movie to a Gohan movie so Gohan needed to get a new form he wasn't going to and since they were already working on the final-2.5 act they just had to force him to get beast out of nowhere

Well, technically gohan has benn shown to have stupidly high potential and rage boosts, so seeing piccolo losing might have activated such a boost again, tho i do conceed that there should have been more of a push to rage
