Where in the comic did it say that they fully paid off their house in a year? He and/or she could've had the house paid off well before they got married. And believe it or not, there are people in this world who are smart enough to not get into debt. I have a stable job, and no debt. The only thing I'm missing is a wife, and that savings amount lol. And that stuff takes time to get. But I definitely wouldn't call this comic unrealistic.
